So wait.....you're running OS 7, in Windows, on a Mac? That certainly seems convoluted. For a long time now, I've been wanting to set up an OS 9 emulator on my iMac, also to run some old games. I've got MacMAME with tons of old ROMs. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. And I don't want to drag out my old G4 and another monitor just to play Dig Dug.

NT4 was also a fantastic OS. Rock solid, light and durable. My only gripe was the lack of DX8 support...

I've read about something called SheepShaver , but I've never tried it. It claims to emulate OS 7-9 in Mac, Windows or Linux.

I've tried SheepShaver, on a macbook running linux, did take some tinkering to make everything work, but it was rather good iirc.

This is the best thing to do with a mac:

I would do it over a tarp though so I could pick up all the pieces for recycling. Environmental waste damage and stuff.

Personally I'd rather they not be made at all.

At least, not until the working conditions of the laborers are improved, or manufacturing is moved to a country that enforces health and safety laws. (mac pro is only to be assembled in the US, remember). A factory should not need nets on the side of the building to prevent workers from jumping to their deaths because their health has become so bad they can't afford to care for themselves.

Same holds for any other company that has workers in such deplorable conditions, but apple is especially despicable for it since they have over one hundred billion dollars in profit they could use just a portion of to resolve it.

Guess what? Most PC manufacturers are guilty of the same laboring issues Apple does as well. Foxconn makes a *crapload* of components.

So, while I understand why you don't support Apple for that reason, just be aware it is common practice across many electronics and PC manufacturers. Cheap labor keeps production costs down; therefore, enables us to buy cheaper computers. Remember in the 80s and early 90s how expensive computers and peripherals were? In the early 90s a modem was $300 or so and now you can get a very nice motherboard that *has* an integrated network card for half the price, if not more.

You didn't read my comment. I am well aware other manufacturers do this (part of the reason I build my own), but apple, above all others, has the money and influence to fix it for everyone .
